Hello, intrepid Interns. This is just a friendly reminder that your debate on the ethics and dilemmas of time travel is this Wednesday, so you'll want to pay extra attention to your classes on maintaining the timeline, temporal law, and paradox risks in the coming days.

Before I came to work with TEA, I spent over a decade as a Time Bandit, which gives me a unique perspective on these topics. Feel free to ask me anything on this post in the name of research and I'll do my best to answer honestly.

interesting. do you miss it?

I miss some aspects of it. I had an extraordinary amount of freedom, and I preferred living in the 1980s to now.

why the 80s? beyond the fashion.

The short answer is that I was monitoring the ARPANET project, but eventually it just came to feel like home.

very cool. why did you decide to be a time bandit?

I didn’t, really. They rescued me from my own time.

how old were you when that happened?

It was my nineteenth birthday.

was it fun?

Sometimes it was.

and the other times?

Lonely, mostly.

weren't you with people?

I had a crew at first, but I struck out on my own fairly early. Then I had a few mentors, but we traveled separately for the most part.

friends from the time you were living in?

[...] I tried not to make personal attachments in-timeline.

that sounds incredibly lonely.

It was, but I'm exceptionally introverted. My interactions with my bandit contacts were enough for me~~, for the m~~.

how often did you interact with them?

My sister Cordelia, maybe once a year. The Estradas I saw a little more often than that, though less so as time went on for us all. There were others, too, but none I was very close with.

no one is that much of an introvert.

I did talk to civilians. I just didn't befriend them.

Living every day in its proper order can be boring, too.
