I asked him if he’s kissed anyone in the future. Eventually, I circled around to saying that I had considered him as someone I might want to kiss. And one of the rules was that we wouldn’t go without speaking for more than three days if it went poorly, so I’m going to have to stop avoiding him sometime today. Because I do think that rule likely applies here. Even if there hasn’t been any kissing.

My week is perhaps less busy than I suggested it is. […] I just got very nervous the moment that it became a “when” instead of a possibility.

Perhaps you're not ready for it, or perhaps you need something less structured.

Nothing about this situation indicates you've done something not okay. You implied you were "extremely busy" and he's treating you like someone who's extremely busy. If you'd told him that and he hounded you about kissing, that would be sad.

Laurie is a gentleman. He is […] most certainly smart enough to know that I’m not quite so busy and that I was in fact, panicking. Because he did immediately offer that we could pretend the entire conversation never happened.
